Support the department and the organization as one of two LTL managers for our Denver branch. Responsibilities include establishing rapport with customers, our sales floor, and our TL operations teams, educating all the above on the execution and intricacies of shipping LTL freight, and managing four direct reports - a lead and three reps. Oversee initial and continuing training for the team, execution of support for our office and our managed customers, and adherence to job expectations. Work with senior manager and department leadership on process improvements and new customer opportunities, and to ensure the team is operating profitably. Provide as much issue resolution as possible before escalating any situations to the next leadership level. Act as local content matter expert and work to disseminate that knowledge through open desk policy and formal round tables, and as POC for when LTL carrier partners seek office visits. Also provide moral support for team through monthly one-on-one meetings to stay current on anything they want to discuss pertaining to personal life, current work happenings, or career trajectory, and bridge between them and department leadership to keep them informed. Additional duties include providing formal mid-year check-ins, end of year reviews, merit conversations, hiring exercises for team positions, and change management.
