ABOUT DIANA E. PÁEZ
The energy transition is reshaping not only power systems but also industrial policy, business ecosystems, and global supply chains - including for EVs. My focus is on how low and middle-income countries can capture value and benefit from this transition rather than be sidelined by it. As Senior Director of Energy & E-mobility at WDI, I lead our efforts to advance just transitions to electric mobility and sustainable energy, working closely with innovators, decision makers and entrepreneurs to help them make sense of challenges and tap into new opportunities. Working at the intersection of business, technology and development, I use rigorous analytical skills to translate complex issues into decision-ready insights, usable frameworks, and tools for impact. Knowing what to do is only half the battle; to move into action, I build partnerships that catalyze stronger ecosystems, because the players, incentives, enablers and dynamics are as important as the transition technologies and innovations we seek to scale. To power my work I leverage almost two decades of experience working across regions and a multidisciplinary and multicultural background that helps me see the big picture while paying careful attention to nuance, context and impact.
