MAJOR PURPOSE Responsible for electronic preparation, troubleshooting and problem solving of Chicago Tribune classified section in the SCS paginated environment. Key person in coordinating and correcting Death Notice paginated pages prior to released to Plate room. Also responsible for coordinating the replacement, insertion, re pagination of late and or missing ad material from Advertising and telemarketing. Also maintain and operate all computer systems and peripherals in the Computer Services area for completion of tasks pertaining to production and data exchange. responsible for the day-to-day system maintenance, troubleshooting, and backups to maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of computer systems, and for the providing procedures on the operation of those systems. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES To paginate all Chicago Tribune classified Broad sheet and tabloid sections without Advertising representative. To coordinate the classified material from multiple system platforms and convert to proper form for SCS system. To make necessary system software changes to create, delete or modify classifications to update the SCS classified system. To make necessary changes to add and delete additional Banners and special sections. To monitor system resources and operations in order to ensure efficient and effective daily operations and to make recommendations for more efficient and effective methods of providing software services. To develop customer and system documentation for the implementation and operation of new and revised systems. To fix and troubleshoot the out of sequence and long liner liteface ads. To ensure timely review and correction of text for Death Notices. To communicate with System Analysts and users by phone to resolve system problems. To assist in training and developing operators to perform classified pagination required to meet customer needs.
