I develop and implement the Council’s approach to climate mitigation and adaptation. This includes: Formulating and executing plans to achieve the district’s climate goals and targets. Working to embed climate action across the Council’s service areas Building buy-in for climate action amongst the District’s resident, business and visitor communities. Securing funding to support Council ambitions on climate mitigation and adaptation. Overseeing climate project execution Line management of climate teamAchievements in post include:1. Securing external funding and developing a retrofit engagement strategy that has resulted in hundreds of residents benefiting from an opportunity to improve their homes and reduce the carbon intensity of the district’s housing stock.2. Securing buy-in for and implementing a governance structure to integrate climate action across Council service areas. This has leveraged a greater pool of resource which is enabling the Councilto decarbonise both its waste fleet and buildings simultaneously.3.Overseeing installation of electric vehicle chargepoint infrastructure across the District to enable people to benefit from the green transition.
