ABOUT OLIVIA BENDIS
My name is Olivia Bendis and I am a Documentary and Broadcast Journalism student at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. I utilize ethnographic research techniques to develop stories, and excel at producing, directing and video editing on Premiere Pro. My most recent internship was as a Social Media and Development Intern at Culture Machine, where I worked for seven months. Additionally, I interned at Campfire Studios as a Post-Production intern throughout the summer 2024. In my sophomore year I worked a research and development internship at the Kennedy Marshall company, where on research and post-production tasks for their National Geographic film The Space Race. My goal when working these positions is to learn how different departments function in the documentary and scripted world. Before attending university, I became a published author with Marvel, DC, Darkhorse and Image Comics. I also hosted the International Youth Silent Film Festival in Portland, Oregon for two years. I recently debuted my university-funded short-form documentary film \"Shade in the Sunshine State.\" This film is about the Miami Ballroom community coming together amidst Florida’s anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. I was co-director, co-producer and lead editor on this film.
