ABOUT NINA MONTEIRO
I have always been passionate about engineering creations and how they affect our daily lives. I constantly learn new things, be it by myself or with the help of professionals more experienced than me. I value simple and practical solutions for complex problems and do not shy away from challenging situations. I am a great team player and eager to grow professionally. My work during graduate studies was primarily focused on modeling, optimization, and analysis of energy systems processes with the goal of minimizing environmental impact and costs while servicing the community. I used a mix of first principles and data-driven models to represent a dynamic energy management center, which was later optimized using a derivative-free approach. My research was developed in line with industrial partners’ needs, which included presentations and reports for industry representatives.
