ABOUT NIKKI WALSH

Working in rail for the last four years and with over 25 years’ experience in the water industry I have specialised in driving best practice into organisations using robust asset management practices and delivering ISO55001 certification in complex regulated industries. I cover all aspects of asset management, strategic planning, asset information and data management, capital delivery, programme and project management and engineering design; looking at diverse asset types. I also dabble in climate resilience, digital, data management and sustainability. I deliver transformations in asset management and build improved Asset Management capabilities and outcomes. I focus on planning approaches to drive more value across asset outcomes for all they serve. I am highly dedicated and self-motivated and drive continuous improvement in my field. I enjoy being an active contributor to the Institute of Asset Management, chairing the Digital Asset Management hot topic, on the council and as a member of the Board.I enjoy challenges and continue to learn broadening my experience including being a Registered Asset Management Professional, Chartered Engineer, Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Water and Environmental Manager as well as continuing to gain qualifications throughout my career; MBA, Diploma in Asset Management and Certificate in Environmental Law. I have managed multi-disciplinary teams including programme managers, engineers, technical specialists, apprentices, asset planners and modellers. I enjoy building new capabilities in organisations delivering Asset Intelligence and Asset Management Strategy building asset data and analytics foundations to drive focussed intervention planning. I have undertaken organisational design, change management and business engagement to drive solutions that are embedded and stick. I delivered a successful transformation of an investment delivery team, impacting structure and working culture as well as implementing a new investment Framework Operating Model with new delivery partners. I built a collaborative working environment with supply partners to deliver more for less, achieving 20% delivery efficiency and 92% external customer satisfaction.As a senior leader I have high emotional capital, combining this with a keen intellect, an inquisitive and creative mind and strategic thinking makes me an influential and inspirational leader that people trust and respect.
