Nicholas Corpuz is the Director of Compliance at Valon, Inc. Nicholas has extensive professional experience in areas ranging from Loan Purchase Audit and Loan Servicing Administration and Oversight, to Risk Management of Distressed Assets. Nicholas has a wide breadth of experience of Mortgage Loans from Origination all the way through Disposal at REO. Nicholas\' areas of expertise include: Servicing Compliance Specialist, knowledge of the Mortgage Servicing applications of RESPA, TILA, ECOA, Fair Lending and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, eVault, and eDocuments. He has extensive experience with CFPB Servicing Oversight. He also has knowledge of risk management of distressed assets, including mortgaged properties in litigation, foreclosure, REO or in loss mitigation. Prior to joining Valon, Nicholas was the Senior Director of Mortgage Product Compliance at Stavvy, Inc. and the Senior Director of Compliance at Brace Software, Inc. where he was responsible for corporate governance, external and internal auditing framework, SOC audit oversight, platform compliance with mortgage servicing rules. Nicholas created and developed Subsequent QC\'s servicing quality control platform including subservicing oversight, HECM loan oversight, HECM loan servicing, and Document Custodian Final Pool Certification Audits. Nicholas helped develop and implement Prospect Mortgage LLC\'s Servicing Audit following FNMA, FHLMC, HUD, and CFPB requirements and guidelines. Nicholas spent 5 years with Bank of America Correspondent Lending in the Risk Management Department pursuing repurchase demands on behalf of various investors. He also spent several years in Litigated Foreclosure Servicing, and Property Claims/ Loss Drafts. During his time in Loan Administration, Nicholas developed an auditing regime for loans impacted by Hurricanes Rita, Wilma and Katrina. Nicholas received a B.A. in International Development and Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles. He resides in Los Angeles.
