ABOUT NATHALIE ARRUA

Hello! My name is Nathalie Arrua and I am currently a third year student at Emerson College. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Media Psychology with an expected graduation date of Fall 2026. Through my studies, I hope to expand my knowledge of the field of psychology in an increasingly digitized world with a focus on the mental health and well-being of marginalized communities.Additionally, I am involved in the Emerson College community through various student organizations. I am the Vice President of Emerson Reads, the only undergraduate book club on campus. I am also an active member of the Selves and Media Lab directed by Professor Cameron Bunker.I currently have two part-time, on-campus jobs which heavily enrich my studies. I work as a Welcome Desk Assistant throughout the residential buildings, greeting and facilitating guest management for my fellow students. I also work as and IE Ambassador for Emerson Abroad and Domestic Programs. I help manage social media pages, communicate about events, and connect students to study abroad resources. I have been lucky enough to study abroad with Emerson three times so far. I spent a semester abroad at Franklin University in Switzerland, a summer doing the French Language & Global Communications Global Pathways Program, and was able to accompany select Communication Department faculty to Barcelona over spring break. These opportunities have enriched my global perspectives and have facilitated a lot of personal growth. In addition to my time at Emerson, I am currently a Research Assistant at the Belonging and Social Identities Lab conducted by Dr. Analía Albuja at Northeastern University. This experience directly correlates to my future career an educational goals of pursuing a PhD in Psychology by allowing me enhance my research experience.Furthermore, I have gained a lot of experience in the customer service industry through work at Katherine\'s French Bakery & Café in Denver. This has developed my communication skills, collaboration in teams, and time management. Being a server means juggling a lot of responsibilities and interpersonal interactions throughout any given day and I have worked to show up in that role and help guarantee customer satisfaction.I am very open to connect with professionals and peers in my fields of interest and beyond. I am very eager to learn from others! Please feel free to reach out to me anytime to discuss psychology, intersectionality, or even just to chat about broader interests and how different fields of study experience significant overlap.
