About Nicholas Sexauer

I am a creative development and innovation professional with twenty years of experience in media, storytelling, and technology who specializes in driving transformative projects that bridge creative and technical disciplines. I have led the design of innovative narrative solutions for some of the world\'s largest brands.I currently work at Anthropic in the Research organization, where I support operations for a team of approximately 400 researchers advancing the frontiers of AI safety and capabilities. In this role, I apply my systems thinking and cross-functional coordination expertise to enable groundbreaking research in one of the most consequential technology domains of our time.I previously served as an advising Technical Producer for The Future of Storytelling, an award-winning, multidisciplinary story studio focused on telling powerful stories through bespoke events, large-scale experiences, new media, publishing projects, and more. Additionally, I am the co-founder of Jam Club, a community of professionals who come together to participate in ideation jam sessions focused on cross-disciplinary collaboration and scalable impact.These projects are born from years of being deeply entrenched in the innovation process as the Steward of Moonshots at Google\'s X: The Moonshot Factory, where I worked in their early pipeline developing breakthrough technologies and sustainable businesses to make the world a radically better place. During my nine years at X, I led multiple moonshot projects, experimentation and design sprints, as well as C-suite level moonshot thinking workshops.My career has taken me throughout television, film, visual effects, and immersive experience design. I have worked in production management on feature films for Paramount Pictures, including the Mission Impossible, Star Trek, Transformers, and Indiana Jones franchises. Working with filmmakers on using new technologies for storytelling, I landed at Industrial Light & Magic working in visual effects management on multiple films, ultimately focusing on the Star Wars franchise for Lucasfilm.I am a graduate of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University where I hold a B.S. in Film + Television production and minors in physics and philosophy. I am a systems thinker with a deep passion for fostering play, crafting story, and keeping creative innovative thinking a daily practice. In my spare time I am a classic arcade and pinball enthusiast, a lifelong Lego-maniac, and a lover of travel and the outdoors, all of which I enjoy with my family.
