As Immediate Past President Nancy continues to take an active role in the Rhode Island Chapter of APA.Nancy represented APA Rhode Island at all official functions, was the official spokesperson for the chapter, and served on the National Chapter President’s Council. As Chapter President she made all appoints to the Executive Board, delegates and liaisons to National APA and any State or local board, commission or agency; presided at meetings of the Executive Board and the Chapter membership; directed the Executive Board in the preparation of a multi-year development plan, an annual work plan and budget; established affiliations, alliances and sponsorships which further the purposes of the chapter and its strategic development plan or provides benefits and/or services to the membership; and is an ex-officio member of the Professional Development and Legislative Committees.As Professional Development Officer with the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Planning Association (DEC 2008 to DEC 2013), Nancy maintained a robust professional development program. In addition to assisting members in AICP preparation, she was the contact for members to AICP and APA. As a practicing land use attorney and certified planner she filled an essential role in SNEAPA conference planning beginning in 2011 - volunteering many hours to participate in training, program session development and networking for APA-RI and SNEAPA. As an advocate for land use sustainability, Nancy has also been an active participant in the last six sessions of the RI General Assembly – a role fundamental to a vital professional organization such as APA-RI.
