ABOUT MYA WHITE
I am an advocate and activist for creating anti-violent and anti-oppressive spaces. I provide culturally specific care, accessibility reviews, policy analysis, training, and racial justice enhancement in addition to holistic healing. I specialize in working with college students, disabled persons, LGBTQIA+ individuals, older age populations, and people of color. Every aspect of my work comes from an empowerment-based approach with influences from restorative justice teachings, creative healing, and community connections.I graduated from Western Michigan University with my Masters in Social Work when I specialized in studying trauma and interpersonal violence. As well as hold Bachelors of Science degrees in both Criminology and Psychology from Heidelberg University (OH), where I focused on campus violence effective initiatives.I am passionate about survivor work, disability rights, racial justice and policy management. I believe in living out anti-oppression work and am of the opinion that dismantling the systems that are pursuant to racial and disability discrimination will create a violence-free community.
