In addition to audit expertise, the Team provides tax automation services, tax process simplification, reverse tax audits, Effective Tax Rate (Single Rate) use tax evaluation and implementation, offer in compromise assistance and additional indirect tax consulting services that lead to process improvements, cost avoidance and tax recovery.Prior to co-founding Michael James Sales Tax Solutions, Mike worked for over 25 years at General Electric Company’s Corporate Sales, Use & Excise Tax Department where he held numerous management, leadership and individual contributor positions, supporting GE’s Energy, Healthcare, Aviation, Water, Plastics, Transportation, Industrial and Retail Businesses. During this time my primary focus was tax minimization opportunities through audit defense, transaction tax systems, effective tax rate implementations, tax planning, contract and purchase reviews, business and occupation taxes, real and personal property tax, due diligence and integration of mergers, acquisitions, and divestures along with advice to improve business processes such as tax engine applications and compliance routines.
