Skills Bahrain (SB) is a plan to be the \"Peak Body\" for skills and vocational training. SB will be an industry led body and will, through its network of industry panels, develop, as a priority, the following:• The development of Occupational and/or Professional standards across key sectors, especially new Tech sectors. These standards will underpin the development of national vocational qualifications and will support the credentialing of nano and micro qualifications;• The development of a national apprenticeship scheme. This is central to the development of Bahrain’s skills eco-system as it will facilitate a wide range of pathways into sectors and it will help to increase employability and skill acquisition;• The oversight of Bahrain’s incipient Labour Market Intelligence unit. A key deliverable for SB, using data from the LMI unit is to produce an annual skills strategy. This skills strategy will enable providers to target training and upskilling projects that align with labour market needs. In addition, economists and decision makers will be able to use the analysis provided through the skills strategy to make medium decisions such as education provision.
