SKILLS
ABOUT MARCO K.
As the Business Manager for Opal Recycling I help coordinate the collection and delivery of tonnes of waste paper stock to our Paper Mills and the export markets. I oversee the collections of over OPAL customers through our contractor network including Hook-lift, Front-lift, Rear-lift, and Crane truck services in Victoria and Tasmania. Previous to this role, I worked at the 5th largest Transfer Station and Resource Recovery Centre in Australia. Here, I managed >20 fte in a 24/7 facility, open 365 days per year. I was responsible for the daily operations including cardboard baling, glass recycling plant, transportation of waste to landfill facilities and the recycling of steel, timber, green waste and e-waste.I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from INHolland University in the Netherlands. During university I completed a year studying abroad on the Erasmus program in Denmark for a semester, followed by a semester in Shanghai. I am passionate about the impact we all make on the world. At Opal we have a commercially feasible closed loop solution for waste paper. Every piece of cardboard we collect gets recycled and made into new paper which continues the loop and keeps it out of landfill.
