ABOUT MITCH SWINSON

I\'m a 3rd generation Mechanical Engineer, each of which received their P.E. from the State of Alabama, and the second of which to graduate from the Auburn University Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.I have over 8 years of experience in the Power Generation industry in both the coal and natural gas sectors which overlaps nearly 5 years of experience in the Central Campus Utility industry. My responsibility is to make my clients successful by providing consulting and design solutions for both new and existing installations. For the past 7+ years I have taken my 11+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer to transition into a role as a Construction Project Manager with the Burns & McDonnell Construction group, primarily working on site in support of multiple design-build projects. Many of these projects have afforded me the opportunity to expand my experiences, with scopes focused heavily on Civil and Electrical.I work for Burns & McDonnell, a 100% Employee-Owned full-service engineering, architecture, construction, environmental and consulting solutions firm ranked as one of FORTUNE magazine’s Top 100 Best Places to Work For. World Headquartered out of Kansas City, Missouri, we have regional and local offices throughout the United States. Burns & McDonnell plans, designs, permits, constructs and manages projects worldwide with one goal — to make our clients successful. My duties have included the design of mechanical systems, development of equipment specifications, and preparation of construction contracts. I\'ve been involved in the evaluation, design, and upgrading of AQCS for coal-fired power plants, 2-on-1 combined cycle plants, and Central Utility Plants. Additionally my experiences on AQCS projects included extended stints on-site providing design, outage and start-up support. More recently my Constructuon Management experience has included projects to integrate new tooling stations into existing facilities from the soil up, plant substation expansion and electrical infrastructure upgrades.
