ABOUT MIGUEL DE MELO

Data Architect with over 27 years experience in Data and Web Technologies across a variety of industries ranging from Media, Publishing, Retail, and Finance. Most of my career has been dedicated to Technology agnostic Data abstractions such as XML, JSON, and RDF. Data driven transformations; High volume and high throughput message processing; under various incarnations of distributed Event Driven Architectures.RDF and Graph technologies have been a particular area of focus, developing flexible and extensible Taxonomies from Reference Data, hierarchical Metadata, and bibliographic Data assets.Information Architecture: Data design; Data cataloguing - Modelling Conceptual, to Logical, then to various Physical Data representations. Establishing good Data Governance practices, provenance, auditability and lineage. Domain Model ownership.Experience in various software development methodologies, such as Agile and its variants, Scrum, or Kanban. I have spent a lot of time developing in Java, and have a good grasp of various IOC Dependency Injection tools, including Spring Boot, as well as a good understanding of optimal software design practices, such as Mocking, TDD, CI/CD, IAC.
