ABOUT MICHAEL MONTELONGO
As an experienced board director, former White House appointee, US Air Force CFO, and global business executive, I’ve spent my career operating at the nexus of business, government, national security, and civic matters. My boards and companies benefit from my uniquely cross-sector perspective to boardrooms, blending deep governance expertise with strategic, operational, financial, risk, and public policy/geopolitical fluency.I currently serve on public, private, and nonprofit boards — where I\'ve chaired and served on audit, risk, ESG, compensation, and nominating/governance committees. I\'m a sought-after board governance speaker with public, private, and family company experience across hospitality, facilities management & food services, aerospace & defense, BPO/IT, and consumer products. Besides senior leadership, board governance and functional experience in global settings, I provide highly-regulated, high-risk industry/safety expertise.Previously, I served as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (CFO), managing a $120B global budget during two major combat operations. At Sodexo, I held multiple C-level roles, including CAO and Chief Strategy Officer, helping lead enterprise transformation across a North American business serving clients and 15 million customers.I’m the CEO of GRC Advisory Services, a board and executive advisory firm specializing in governance, risk, compliance, and strategic leadership. I\'ve taught an MBA elective at Harvard Business School where I am an Executive Fellow and am a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. My career is guided by a deep commitment to principled leadership, national service, and civic impact — and informed by Jesuit, military, and business values. I’ve been honored among Hispanic Business Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Hispanics, received the Latino Leaders Magazine Maestro Award for Leadership, and continue to support organizations advancing opportunity, veteran support, and leadership development.
