Under the direction of the Assistant Deputy Director in the Office of Public Affairs, I perform the more complex professional and technical tasks associated with a comprehensive internal communications program to inform the CDPH employees, partners, stakeholders and the public of the department\'s public health activities, achievements and accomplishments. I work directly with the Department Director and Chief Deputies on sensitive issues of importance to the department employees and to the public. I develop and implement policies and procedures related to internal communications. I also plan and execute proactive communication strategies for multiple audiences. I consult with and advise the Director and Deputy Directors on employee outreach efforts. I review, plan, write and edit publications; manage various content on the CDPH internal website. I research and prepare executive briefing papers, issue memos, fact sheets and Web sites. Special writing assignments have included composing news releases, feature articles, talking points, speeches and video scripts. I represent CDPH and the Office of Communications at program planning meetings, health and wellness activities as well as at major internal or external CDPH events. I also help coordinate interagency projects and events.
