ABOUT MICHAEL HARDY

I am a recent graduate from Texas State University with a B.B.A. in Finance. I am an innovator, motivator, and strategic thinker, who is passionate about finance and analyzing investment opportunities. I have developed my financial acumen and research capabilities through a series of achievements while pursuing my degree. In lieu of an internship, I applied to the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) at the McCoy College of Business and once accepted, I took the role of a portfolio analyst for 10 months. During this time, I was elected to be the Sr. Portfolio Manager and led a team to 1st place in the US sub-regional round of the CFA Institute Research Challenge.As a Sr. Portfolio Manager in SMIF, I was responsible for maintaining an appropriate portfolio structure that was aligned with our overall objective when prospecting new investments in both fixed income and equities. This allowed me to gain experience and develop skills in leadership, researching capital markets, financial analysis, and financial modeling. The CFA Challenge provided an invaluable experience that has strengthened my capabilities financial analysis and allowed me to develop an in-depth understanding of equity research, financial valuation, and report writing. I love to learn and I am dedicated to continuing my education by attending seminars and completing various certifications that broaden my scope of knowledge and way of thinking. I am currently scheduled for the CFA Level 1 exam and in the process of earning the Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) and Capital Markets and Securities Analyst (CMSA) certifications through the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI), and I aspire to achieve an MBA in the future.I am seeking a full-time position to utilize my passion for finance to generate new ideas that will make a positive impact to the investment process. I am excited to bring my skills and knowledge to your firm, with a promise to deliver high-quality work as I continue to learn and grow in my profession.
