WORK HISTORY
Senior Esh Osh Project Design (Pd Pc - Cdm Bsa) - Birchwood Park Warrington Uk @Amentum
At present I am supporting Amentum UK as the Senior ESH/OSH, within the RIBA design phases of a nuclear project lifecycle including CDM (PD) & BSA. My expertise as an independent technical safety authority, lies in promulgating timely, contemporary, coherent, evidenced based solution safety services. I research, evaluate, and synthetise current H&S information, seeking out potential Project H&S vulnerabilities and exploring effective pragmatic solutions to mitigate the project risk loading exposure (nuclear design project), designing out hazards and creating foresight from insight regarding the ever changing nature of risk.I am a proactive double degree HSE domain technical authority, Chartered member of IOSH (UK) specialising in evidence proven harm-minimisation, design risk-proportionate management. I leverage a progressive approach to the new view on Safety, Human & Organisational Performance (HOP) and Human/User-Centred Designs, employing critical and creative thinking (Safety by Design, Defence in Depth & Resilience Engineering), whilst delivering successful OHS/HSE support by exposing potential vulnerabilities and/or absent, context dependent, critical control measures, within complex transdisciplinary UK and Canadian work environments. My expertise is evidenced as an independent technical safety authority, promulgating timely, contemporary, coherent, evidenced based solution safety services. ABOUT MICHAEL FITZPATRICK MNUCI
I am a proactive double degree HSE domain technical authority, Chartered member of IOSH (UK) specialising in evidence proven harm-minimisation, design risk-proportionate management. I leverage a progressive approach to the new view on Safety, Human & Organisational Performance (HOP) and Human/User-Centred Designs, employing critical and creative thinking (Safety by Design, Defence in Depth & Resilience Engineering), whilst delivering successful OHS/HSE support by exposing potential vulnerabilities and/or absent, context dependent, critical control measures, within complex transdisciplinary UK and Canadian work environments, by enabling continuous learning and sustainable improvement via collaborative feedback, creating context sense-making workable solutions for real-life scenarios. I shape direction and strategy for OSH/HSE regulatory compliance & assurance: overseeing and supporting design engineering activities with a constant focus on safety and regulatory compliance. Ensure all design engineering work adheres to national nuclear regulations and international standards (UK ONR SAP/TAG, IAEA guidelines & WANO good practices), and that the design conforms to the licensing basis and safety analysis. Influence and coordinate with nuclear safety, quality assurance, and independent review teams to conduct design reviews, audits, and technical assessments. Address any findings to maintain compliance and to uphold the highest standards of safety culture throughout the project. Ensure that any technical risks or issues are clearly communicated and that decision-makers have the information needed to support project objectives while maintaining safety and compliance. Originally, completed a four-year Indentured apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering. To find out more, please send me an email to h••••••••@hotmail.com.
