ABOUT MICHAEL CLEMENS

For as long as I can remember, my favorite way to spend time has been playing cards with family. These card games would always come with life lessons from my grandparents but none I believe to be more important than to always be fully engaged and pay attention to the other players. Without knowing it, this lesson would slowly shape me, game after game, into the person that I am today. I always try to be what my high school basketball coach would call a,\"human sponge,\" soaking up all the information around me and catching all the details so that I am able to recreate or apply what I saw to my own situation. Whether I am trying to learn the best strategy for a new card game, a new dribble move in basketball, or what the details of a financial statement are actually telling me, I have always picked up on the techniques for doing these things quickly after learning them. However, just as a sponge doesn\'t clean up only one spill and get thrown away, I constantly stay ready for the next lesson. This allows me to always either be improving on the skills that I already have or looking for new skills to develop. I was able to put this skill to use during my accounting classes and since then I have been soaking up all the financial analysis information that I can whether it be through the passing of CPA exams, in my early career with KPMG or investing in the most promising (independent) companies that I find.I love learning and will be a student for the rest of my life.
