ABOUT MERVE KIRATLI

Hello everyone,I am Merve Gülsüm Kıratlı. I am a master\'s degree student at University of Warsaw, Data Science and Business Analytics program. The objectives of the Data Science programme is to educate data analysts with broad programming skills, understanding business and business processes that can easily communicate with business clients. That is why the education program is based on four pillars: quantitative methods, IT programming, economics & finance and soft skills. I was graduated from Boğaziçi University (BOUN) Industrial Engineering bachelor’s degree. My interests are based on Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Analysis and Data Science. By the way, I am planning to apply master’s degree studies about these topics that I mentioned above for my second cycle education. My topics of interest include these concepts because there is strong theoretical background behind them, and you can implement this theoretical knowledge by using your coding and analytic skills. Implementation is an important side of theory which will let me create products and serve to the market to improve socioeconomic factors for humanity.I am continuously trying to develop myself about my interest deeper. For that reason, I am following courses from online platforms and expanding my knowledge while preparing coding projects by myself and school projects. I love learning new things via Medium, Stackoverflow and much more. I am a skilled programmer with C, SQL, and R, also trying to develop myself about Python programming. You can check my coding skills, achievements, experiences, and projects from my GitHub and LinkedIn accounts link at the end.In the last 2 year of Industrial Engineering BSc education in BOUN, I got Essentials of Data Analysis, Statistical Forecasting & Time Series, Quality Engineering, Facilities Design & Planning, Robust Design, Computer Integrated Manufacturing System, Supply Chain Management courses while using Python (MIP) and R programming beside of some simulation and optimization programs like ARENA and GAMS.I am highly motivated to have a career path for data science related topics with some analytics. I have passion for working about this subject since I got related courses. Besides them, I also started to work on these subjects during my university projects. The time that I was studying, I realized that I am so excited to be interested in this area and at that point, I was sure that I will build my career by working on this field.
