BetterUp’s mission is to help every leader pursue their lives with clarity, purpose, and passion. As a Fellow Coach, I work with diverse clients to identify meaningful goals, and support them in achieving them. I use a strengths-based approach to recognize what is strong in them and align their values (of what\'s important and how they want to show up) to their actions that serve their goals.

ABOUT MERRY WOODRUFF

As an ICF (International Coaching Federation) Professional Certified Coach (PCC), I work with leaders to facilitate well-being and intentional working and living. Using a co-active coaching and mindful awareness approach, along with design thinking, I encourage my clients to connect to their values, and design meaningful goals with actionable steps that will help move them forward. I support my clients as they transform their relationship to themselves, their life and all aspects of it. I scaffold the cultivation of mindfulness practices that allow my clients to live in the present moment, stay focused and attend to what is important. As we break through obstacles and build awareness, my clients attain the desired mindset, behavior, and outcome they set out to achieve with clarity and confidence. As a result, they flourish and live a life worth living. With foundations in psychology, education and learning/training, I share evidence-based practices and tools for developing self-awareness, mindful awareness, emotional intelligence, agency and resilience. Whether seeking to enhance leadership skills or mental fitness, I meet clients where they are, and encourage them towards their ideal states. Together we investigate the gap, address the obstacles/distractions one at a time, and design a road map forward to navigate. We celebrate along the way as we gather fuel and insights and reset for the next destination.I also mentor other coaches to facilitate their development in attaining a credential from the ICF.As a Teacher and Facilitator of Mindfulness-based applications, such as Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, Mindful Self-Compassion, Mindful Living & Eating, and Meditations, I scaffold the application of these skills through formal and informal practices and build community at the same time.My experience in coaching spans 9 years, yet my non-coaching years in various capacities (both professional and personal) adds layers of wisdom and allows me to bring a unique perspective to my clients. Pre-coaching, I worked at startups and large organizations in Silicon Valley. I also spent years as a consultant in the field of instructional design to create learning and performance systems for universities and organization.
