ABOUT MERRILL PUOPOLO
I joined CBIZ & MHM (formerly CBIZ Tofias), a Top 10 national accounting provider, in 1992. I am a Managing Director in the Accounting & Auditing Group and Leader of the A/E/C Practice. I work with CFOs, Controllers, and business owners at closely-held businesses, architecture and engineering firms, real estate companies and not-for-profit organizations to help them improve their financial positions. For more than 30 years I have provided clients with a better understanding of their financial position by providing financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, audits of financial statements, tax planning and consulting, internal control and system reviews, due diligence services and financial statement analysis. I proactively assist clients to navigate change and help their businesses grow. During my time at CBIZ & MHM, I have led the company’s new staff orientation program, mentoring program, and employee retention program. Prior to joining CBIZ & MHM, I worked as a senior accountant at Levine Zeidman & Daitch. Upon graduating from University of Maryland College Park in 1989, I held positions at Freedberg & Garlick. I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). I am actively involved with the Wellesley Community Children’s Center as a Treasurer of the Board and Executive Committee Member-At-Large and a past Board Member and Treasurer of the National Tay-Sachs and Allied Diseases Association. I was given the honor of “Who’s Who in Accounting” by the Boston Business Journal and was selected as one of 35 local leading female executive mentors for the Boston Business Journal’s BizWomen Mentoring Monday event. In my spare time you can usually find me working out doing barre or Soul Cycle, reading, shopping at my favorite clothing stores, or vacationing around the world with my family.
