Schools Make Madison Advocates (SMMA), the 501c4 advocacy arm of the Madison Public Schools Foundation, is proud to have successfully managed the $350M Vote Yes 2 Invest campaign in 2020 and the $607M Strong Schools - Strong Community campaign in 2024. In addition to running referenda campaigns, SMMA is the home for our statewide advocacy work. Our current focus is securing greater public K12 resources in the 2025-27 state budget, thereby increasing investments in student basic needs and the attraction and retention of staff. Alongside these efforts, we continue our commitment to tax transparency, believing that the public should have full information about how the state allocates K12 funding.
