About Mohammad abu Talha
I’m an energy modeler and research engineer working at the intersection of electrification, carbon capture, and industrial decarbonization. At EPRI, I develop techno-economic and lifecycle models to evaluate emerging technologies, bridging detailed technical analysis with actionable insights for utilities, industry, and policymakers. Before EPRI, I worked on negative emissions research at Arizona State University, applying process and geospatial modeling to optimize direct air capture systems and support large-scale DOE projects. I also have 3 years international experience in the oil & gas industry, implementing advanced process controls and digital solutions to improve efficiency and reduce emissions.I’m passionate about translating complex technical challenges into sustainable solutions and contributing to the energy transition. When I’m not modeling energy systems, you’ll probably find me experimenting with recipes in the kitchen, traveling/hiking, or unwinding with video games.
