About Mozahidul Islam

Mr. Islam has an excellent academic-research track record and multi-dimensional career experiences. Currently doing his second masters in Natural Resources after postgraduation from Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation (major). He has served more than three years in academia when tried to make technically sound young professionals for addressing concurrent problems through geospatial approaches. Alongside academia, Mr. Islam is also a humanitarian environmental activist and social worker who is working to resolve enviro-social issues through multi-lateral partnership initiatives. Recently he talks about climate change and disaster perspectives of the indopacific region in the forum of 24 partnership countries funded by the US Embassy Dhaka as an invited speaker.Mr. Islam’s pragmatic research activities are financed by the ministry of science technology, the research training center of Bangladesh, the US embassy (Dhaka), the British high commission (India & Bangladesh), also published by Q1, Q2 quartile journals of Elsevier, Springer, Emerald, Taylor & Francis publishers. He is voluntarily overseeing the humanitarian organization Blood Connection Foundation (BCF) whose central committee’s 115 members and 180 thousand collaborators are freely arranging emergency blood, oxygen, and crisis food support to the marginal communities of Bangladesh.

I am voluntarily serving Blood Connective Foundation (BCF), a voluntary platform that ensures \'common facilities for all,\' focusing on impoverished communities, women, and children. We are currently providing \'free oxygen cylinder service\' to the covid-19 patients and \'blood for all\' programs, among other intended programs. Consisting of 46 members central committee, branch to 13 districts and 1Lac+ Facebook followers, we arrange about 60-70 bag blood per day to support critical patients. Other programs are initiating soon.

REACH! is the Asian/Pacific Islander Recruitment and Retention Center at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1994, REACH! began with a handful of committed folks, as a program under the Asian Student Union (ASU) at UC Berkeley to target “Asian Pacific American, high school students, especially those who are underrepresented, low-income, and non-college tracked”. Its goals were two-fold: 1) promoting higher education as an attainable goal and 2) empowering students through “building ethnic pride and programs that foster community activism and support APA youth culture”. As REACH! grew organizationally, the vision and purpose of REACH! grew with it. While the mission remained, “the service and empowerment of recent immigrant and urban Asian Pacific Americans living in at-risk life situations,” we added on that “Our goal is to promote higher education as a means to empower ourselves and improve the economic and social conditions facing our communities.” We saw that REACH! had a unique role on campus and in the API community at large, because REACH! was not just going to increase the numbers of underrepresented Asians at Berkeley but REACH! would be a training ground for future educators, activists, and leaders who would address society’s injustices through their life’s work. Thus, we created programs to raise political awareness, build coalitions, develop youth leaders, and build leadership in ourselves. Each year, programs have been refined and recreated by (insanely) dedicated and intelligent coordinators, who look for a better way to do things. However, our single most important legacy is the steady stream of community leaders we have and will produce. REACH! Mission Statement: "Committed to the service, empowerment, and mobilization of immigrant, refugee, and underserved Asian/Pacific Islanders by promoting higher education to empower ourselves and challenge the economic and social inequalities facing our communities" Educate, Empower, Change.
