ABOUT MAX NEUFEIND
Psychologist and political economist by training, I work at the intersection of technology, policy, and society — with a focus on making government more strategic, capable, and mission-oriented. At the German Federal Chancellery, my work centers on enabling the double transition — green and digital — through smarter governance, innovation policy, and public sector transformation. A key priority is building societal dialogue around change: how we navigate transformation collectively, inclusively, and with purpose. Alongside my government work, I remain actively involved in think tanks and international platforms and have held several research fellowships and visiting positions. What guides me across these roles are four core beliefs- We need state institutions that are fit for our time — to make life better for everyone, continuously- Everyone deserves the right environment to realize their full potential — and we must actively shape those environments at every level- Technology, when used wisely, has the potential to make our societies more prosperous, cohesive, and fulfilled- Diversity makes societies strong — and we need the right platforms and formats to move forward together.
