Throughout his career, building and leading teams, philanthropy (funding novel cancer research), executive search, Board consulting and advisory, talent strategy, nonprofit leadership, event and project management, and, have all been hallmarks of his background. Matt brings a commitment to diversity, vast sector crossing networks; shared passion for purpose-driven work, and relentless dedication to his clients. He focuses primarily on education and the healthcare sector with special emphasis on early stage life sciences companies and cancer research. His experience also includes higher education and the energy sector. Matt has completed searches at Board, CEO, CMO, and CFO levels, as well as General Manager, Head, and Executive Director and Vice President in device, diagnostics, and therapeutics. In 1987, Matt co-founded Swim Across America (SAA), a non-profit organization that raises funds for cancer research, treatment, and survivorship programs through a series of open water swimming events. To date, SAA has raised more than $150 million, primarily benefiting Memorial Sloan Kettering, UCSF, Mass General, Johns Hopkins, Fred Hutch, MD Anderson, and Dana Farber.
