ABOUT MATT ENSOR
I am dedicated to helping New Zealand take a global lead in the practical use of generative AI. I help organisations and Boards turn Generative AI from something uncertain into something empowering and practical. As a keynote speaker and trainer I make AI real, relatable, and engaging. My sessions use live examples and clear language to remove fear, build confidence, and inspire people to act. Audiences leave understanding how AI can transform speed, quality, and creativity across their work.I specialise in helping infrastructure and asset-heavy organisations understand and safely apply AI as part of their digital transformation. My background in engineering, risk, and governance ensures decision-makers can see both the strategic opportunities and the operational risks. I help organisations define, teach, and assess what competent performance looks like when AI is part of the work.I am the Institute of Directors training facilitator and subject matter expert in AI, helping boards lead responsibly through rapid technological change. I also serve as Chair of the AI Forum New Zealand Generative AI Working Group, guiding national collaboration on governance and innovation.Previously I founded FranklyAI within the Beca Group, creating the first Indigenous AI for Pasifika and Aboriginal languages, and I held senior leadership at Beca leading world-first transport research. I now lead Kia Ora AI, dedicated to building New Zealand’s practical capability in Generative AI.I believe AI should be accessible, ethical, and human centred. If you are looking for a keynote speaker, board advisor, or trainer to help your organisation lead with confidence, I would love to help.
