WORK HISTORY
Chairman of the Board of Directors @Modular Management
Stockholm, SE
Served first as a board director and since September 2025 as the chairman.Modular Management\'s PALMA software package supports the creation and maintenance of a specific type of modular product/software/service and information architecture. This architecture is explicitly linked to the company strategy, improves ability to serve diverse customer needs and creates upstream economies of scale. Modules and module variants are defined at the right level of granularity to allow commonality across all functions and can therefore be configured for different functional purposes, including design, supply chain, marketing and sales configuration. Working with PALMA is fundamentally different and inherently superior to current practice even in leading companies, as all relevant market/product information can be coherently captured and processed by the right teams and/or AI resources at different levels of abstraction or detail. This enables the transfer of rich contextualized real-time transactional information between existing CRM/CPQ, ERP/MRP, and PLM/CAD platforms and internal and external AI resources. With PALMA, companies can develop and execute digitalized AI-first market/product strategies without getting bogged down in IT platform upgrade programs.

ABOUT MART TIISMANN
My professional experience spans product development, finance, investment portfolio management, mergers & acquisitions, marketing, operations, and being a CEO. I am curious about physics, metaphysics, the origins of life, consciousness, epistemology, economics, and a lot of other things.Over the last several years I have focused my business engagements and investments in the Venn diagram overlap of AI and enterprise software, based on the following convictions:• The inherent limits on LLM/LRMs\' ability to reason and analyze will not be overcome by further scaling. The next wave of AI-driven productivity will involve hybrid systems capable of incorporating more explicit modeling of processes and causality. Such innovations may not require brute force investment in training compute. • The next wave of AI-driven productivity will shift the emphasis from individual productivity to enterprise level efficacy, which requires AI interaction directly with enterprise software applications. The inherent incompatibility of probabilistic and deterministic systems is, however, generally underestimated, creating opportunities for new innovative solutions.• The difficulty of interpreting ‘structured’ operational data from enterprise software databases is also generally underestimated because of the highly fragmented structure of enterprise software and the low semantic content of SQL and other query languages. This is not merely a legacy problem, as even modern single-supplier systems consist of a large number of applications supported by separate databases with separate schemas. The current strategies for making operational data more intelligible by using an ontology layer to provide semantic contextualization are superficial and constraining, leaving room for more fundamental innovation. The coming innovations are likely to involve the principles of universality, invariance, and intelligent multilayer disaggregation (such as modularization) for simplification - combined with multilevel re-aggregation (such as constraint-based configuration), exploiting combinatorics to cover required output variance and semantic expressiveness. In summary, there are truly exciting opportunities in the nexus of AI and enterprise software systems!
