As the son of a Wisconsin dairy farmer, I grew up learning the value of hard work, perseverance, problem solving, and critical thinking. These lessons have shaped every aspect of my career and how I approach my work as an engineer and as a leader.After 25 years and seven progressive positions in various markets and product lines at Lexmark, I have demonstrated a unique ability to adapt to a wide range of business cultures. From a rigid organizational structure, management style, and decision-making process when I first joined the company to the agile, fast, and flexible culture of the newly formed inkjet division, I adjusted with ease to each unique environment. Working in fast-paced, every-changing manufacturing operations energizes and excites me. I love facing the variety of problems and issues that arise on a daily basis and bringing people together to solve those challenges. My passion for creating and improving things spans my personal and professional life – woodworking and home improvement projects outside of work and product manufacturing at work. I enjoy uncovering inefficiencies, implementing viable solutions, and achieving the desired results.Identifying inefficient processes that have been engrained into the business and then managing people through change brings me great satisfaction. I overcome people’s fear of change by building the case for change and helping them envision the future with a new and better method.I have managed and built relationships with numerous culturally diverse local and offshore teams, manufacturing operations, and suppliers. In each case, I took the time to understand the different cultures, motivations, and thought processes to better lead these teams toward successful outcomes.Creativity, persistence, and critical thinking.
