I believe a resume tells a story. Where you\'ve been, what you have done and where you are trying to go. I also think it should be as interesting for the Recruiter to read as it is for the applicant to tell. In my over 10 years in Human Resources, I have read a lot of resumes. I have seen the Good, the Bad and the ones handwritten on loose-leaf paper. I gained an understanding of what applicants are trying to convey, but they don\'t always know or understand the science of a resume. And, it\'s not their fault because no one really teaches you how to do one. Most people just follow a template and do their best. In my position as a Career Development Counselor, I have an opportunity to change the mindset of a job-seeker from shooting their resume out like a shot in the dark and hoping something sticks to someone empowered to navigate their career in a way that gives them satisfaction while being the best talent a company can hire. I listen. I figure out what people really want. And, I help them make huge life changes. It\'s rewarding when you hear them exhale and release the stress.
