About Marcella Engel
I am an undergraduate student at Tulane University majoring in Mathematics and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, with a strong passion for molecular biology research and a long-term goal of pursuing a PhD. I currently hold multiple laboratory positions on campus, where I have gained hands-on experience with molecular techniques and developed a deep appreciation for experimental research. I am also involved in public health–focused student organizations, including TUPHE and SAPHE, which have strengthened my interest in the intersection of science, health, and real-world impact. In addition to lab work, I have participated in fieldwork in Ecuador, gaining experience conducting biological research in diverse ecological settings.
