ABOUT MAICIE BLACK
I am a Business Management graduate from the University of Oklahoma Price College of Business with a passion for relationship-building, strategic coordination, and mission-driven work.Currently, I serve as a Development Coordinator with the American Heart Association, where I support fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and event operations that advance the organization’s mission to fight heart disease and stroke. In this role, I collaborate with community leaders, corporate partners, and volunteers to help execute impactful campaigns and events that drive both awareness and philanthropic support. My professional background includes experience in operations, marketing, and client engagement, where I developed strong skills in project coordination, strategic planning, and relationship management. I am passionate about leveraging these skills to support meaningful causes and bring communities together around important missions. This work is especially meaningful to me on a personal level, as I come from a family impacted by stroke across three generations—my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Being part of the mission at the American Heart Association allows me to contribute to a cause that is deeply personal while helping advance research, education, and prevention for future generations.
