ABOUT MAEVE MCCONNON
Maeve is Head of Department in IDA Ireland’s International Financial Services Division. IDA is the Irish Government Agency with responsibility for attracting and expanding foreign direct investment into Ireland. As Head of Department, Maeve oversees a client portfolio of 300+ international financial services companies with operations in Ireland; and has responsibility for leading the global team driving new business development for Ireland. Prior to joining financial services in January 2019, Maeve was responsible for managing corporate client relationships with IDA strategic clients across technology, consumer and business services sectors. Maeve has extensive experience in helping global companies leverage Ireland as part of their internationalisation strategy and she has led IDA’s efforts in shaping and delivering new value propositions to clients in emerging sectors and activities, most notably in global business services, digital media & games and for data-driven businesses. She has also represented IDA on several Government-led cluster development initiatives to support industry needs in Ireland. With over 20 years’ experience working in IDA, Maeve has also held strategy and organisational development roles including leading HR Change Management and Staff Development. Maeve is a member of the Board of Governance of ADAPT (a University-led Research Centre focused on ground-breaking digital content innovations, based in Trinity College Dublin); and is on the Advisory Board for the RDI Hub in Killorgan, Co. Kerry. She has previously served as a Board Member at IADT (the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dublin) and at the Digital Hub (a State Agency developing a new quarter in Dublin City Centre). Maeve holds a Degree in Social Science from University College Dublin and is a Post Graduate of the Smurfit School of Business, UCD.
