ABOUT MAËLYS RENAUD
My work is centered on a fundamental question: How do we align innovation, capital, and organizations with nature’s systems? With a background in Chemistry and Business Law and a career spanning international diplomacy and venture building, I work across disciplines with a systems change lens to facilitate the transition toward a regenerative future.I am driven by the challenge of amplifying/scaling solutions that prioritize science, resilience, intentionality, and real-world impact. My focus areas:• Impact investing & Funding solutions: I support the deployment of intentional capital into deep tech and climate tech. From scouting and leading investment memos to advising on portfolio strategy, I focus on the rigorous process of selecting and nurturing solutions that drive a nature-positive and circular (bio)economy.• Program design & Implementation: I design and scale platforms that help founders and investors move from \"possible\" to \"proven.\" Most recently, at the Biomimicry Institute, I transformed a 10-week prize into a robust 6-month accelerator, sourcing and supporting 60+ nature-inspired startups solving for impact challenges, and material innovation across sectors.• Facilitation & Systems strategy: I bridge the gap between research institutions (JPL, CNRS), startups, and institutional capital by leveraging my experience in open innovation and science diplomacy. I specialize in designing partnerships, thoughtful gatherings and events to build alignement and momentum.• Knowledge, writing & Governance: I research and translate insights and knowledge into actionable strategy and thought leadership. Recently, I have been exploring the emerging field of nature governance, investigating how we can embed ecological ethics and stakeholder representation directly into our decision-making frameworks. From the land of Brittany, France, I work internationally and stay curious by engaging with the creative scene, the tech ecosystem, and the outdoors. Based in LA | Open to SF/Bay Area, NYC, and remote.🧪 Dual Master’s Degrees: Chemistry (University Pierre & Marie Curie | Sorbonne University) & Business Law (Sciences Po Paris) Trilingual (FR, EN, inter ES)Let’s connect if you’re working to shift consciousness and capital toward a regenerative future.
