ABOUT MADELINE HODAPP
There is no greater gift you can give or receive than to honor your calling. It\'s why you were born and how you become truly alive.\"- Oprah Winfrey.Since I was young, I found my calling to be of service to others. Throughout my career, I have developed skills in program development, finding the gaps in program services, and being an advocate for young people in the Twin Cities. I have a history of working in the non-profit sector, specifically supporting youth in the child welfare system and young parents. I am community driven and culturally responsive to the needs of those I serve and walk alongside through a holistic and non-judgmental approach. I am currently in the process of developing an organization, co-founded by myself and my sister, Kimberly Towers. The organization is called The Upton Program (TUP). TUP provides access to young parents, ages 18-25, to financial literacy education and career development training. Our mission is based in a \"for us, by us\" model which means young parents have been a part of the development of TUP since its conception. We recently completed our first pilot program! Next up is cohort 2, Fall 2025! Outside of work, I am a parent to a 7 year old, a National Advisor for Research in Action\'s (RIA) and Equity in Action Way Foundation\'s initiative and have just started a position as a member of the Hopkins Coalition for Black Scholar Success. I am currently looking to serve on a board of directors of an organization that is youth facing.
