ABOUT M. AMIN AZIMI

Dr. M. Amin Azimi is Project Manager at Michael Baker International, San Diego, CA. He worked as Professor at College of Engineering and Science (COES), Trenchless Technology Center (TTC), Louisiana Tech University. Dr. Azimi is a former Professor at University of Technology Malaysia (UTM). He has more than 15 years of experience in research, teaching, and professional practice in structural, material, trenchless technology, and earthquake Engineering. Recently, he acted as PI of underground robotic project working with engineering department of Facebook. His research interests include smart, green, and innovative structures and materials, Sustainable/Green Technologies, robotics, and Trenchless Technology. He instructed (undergraduate/graduate level) several subjects such as Seismic Maintenance, Structural Wind and Earthquake Eng, Finite Element Analysis, Construction Technology & Design, Principle of Structures, Engineering Materials, advanced engineering surveying, shock and vibration, fluid dynamics. He is a Doctor of Structural Eng. graduated in 2014, with achieving academic excellence award. He was pursued his B.Sc and M.Sc in Civil Eng. Structural field. He had been working with several organizations in the government/ private sectors for several years. Dr. Azimi is author of more than 100 journal/conference papers with more than 2600 citations and 7 books/book chapters. Dr. Azimi has received 25 National/International awards for his inventions in field of innovative engineering, such as “INTELLIGENT EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT BEAM-COLUMN CONNECTORS (SEER-iSPRING)”, CONC+PLUS (bio-concrete) and i-FLOOD (Intelligent Flood Management Software). His latest invention “LOCKBLOCK (MULTI-FUNCTIONAL GREEN INTERLOCKING MORTARLESS CONCRETE BLOCK)” managed to win several international awards such as “Best American Inventor”, Gold, and Special Award from SVIIF 2018-Silicon Valley, USA. Gold and Special Innovation Award in iCAN2017, Canada, Gold award from SIIF2021,(Seoul International Invention Fair 2021). Dr. Azimi is active in several national and international research projects as project leader/main member.
