My name is Lynda Melgarejo, and I am a driven individual with 4 years external manufacturing experience & over 19 years of Caterpillar, Inc. Work, emphasis on Manufacturing Engineering, New Product Introduction, Project Management & Supply Network Strategy for cost reduction initiatives. I hold a B.S. degree of Industrial Engineering and a MS degree on Engineering Management, along with a Graduate certificate in Project Management from the Missouri University of Science & Technology at Rolla, MO. In my roles within Mfg. Eng, I have successfully developed & implemented projects to support Motor Grader New Product Introduction programs for Caterpillar since 2007 with extensive travel to facilities in Brazil, USA and introductory visit to China.As Mfg. Eng. Supervisor for Fabrications, Assembly, Paint & Test, along with contracted resources overseas, I had the opportunity to expand my Leadership skills & extend my R&D knowledge through extensive collaboration with product, design, systems, SCM, operations and quality groups throughout the introduction of 3 generations of Motor Grader products to production environments. Responsibilities in my role included: training plans, career development, NPI budget control, project scheduling, capital and expense projects, DFX, Lean Manufacturing, CPI projects, process and workload capacity balancing, APQP, PFMEA, Quality Control plan development, standard work documentation and Hands-on process validation in production intent environments. As EXSM Product Supply Network Engineer, I led projects to collaborate with facilities world wide & suppliers to identify/implement cost reduction initiatives for EXD Heavy Fabs, Work Tools & Enclosures, through sourcing analysis & efficiency studies. I serve as SIPOC for the USA, Brazil & Mexico, while providing cost & process efficiency information throughout all stages of the NPI Excavator programs for America in collaboration with the EXD Product Design Team located in Japan.In 2019, I relocated to Tucson, AZ to join the Large Mining Truck team as the Productivity Class New Product Introduction Team Lead. Responsible for the Scoping, Development and implementation of new product initiatives for the 785/789/793 Productivity Class LMT product improvements, regulatory upgrades and new technology projects across our USA, Mexico & India Facilities.
