ABOUT LUCIA TIAGO-STANKOVIC
Lucia Tiago Stankovic is the founder and CFO at Linguaemundi Translation & Localization – a language service provider based in the north of Portugal that has been in the translation and localization market since 1996. Lucia has a Master’s degree in translation and has co-translated a number of books into Portuguese including works by the Yugoslav Nobel Prize winner Ivo Andric. She ran the company successfully for 12 years, melding technology and advance business processes with the passion for language she shares with her love of poetry. Words, for Lucia, are as full of meanings and nuances as the wine she also produces in the stunning Douro Valley region. She believes strongly in human beings’ potential and has no time at all for the quick-and-easy and robotic translation machines which, unlike humans, can never be motivated. Her aim has been to combine the best of tradition with the best of modernity. Her main goal for the next 5 years is to run a company where everybody is doing exactly what they love, earning what they really deserve and taking more time off for their personal lives. As well as appreciating the subtlety in words and wines, Lucia is passionate about healthy food, personal improvement and fine jewellery. And also track pants, sunglasses and stilettos.
