ABOUT LARRY S.

Cybersecurity Educator | Theoretical Cybersecurity ResearcherWith over 30 years of experience in law enforcement, fraud detection, auditing, and cybersecurity, I have dedicated my career to protecting organizations from cyber threats and financial crimes. My expertise spans roles in the U.S. Army, major U.S. financial institutions, and higher education, where I have led fraud operations, information security audits, and cybersecurity program development.Since 2004, I have been shaping the future of cybersecurity education, designing and leading one of New York State’s first cybersecurity and cybercrime programs at SUNY Herkimer County Community College. Under my leadership, the program achieved national certification from the Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) and the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS). I have had the privilege of presenting my research nationally and internationally, covering topics such as:\"Building Evidence in an IT Fraud Investigation\"\"Computer Forensics’ Role in Compliance with the ‘Big 4’\"\"The Re-Emergence of the Human Firewall\"At this stage in my career, I have transitioned to a theoretical approach to cybersecurity, focusing on solving seemingly unsolvable problems through the exploration of cyber resilience, distributed data security, and AI-driven threat mitigation. My research delves into advanced security frameworks, innovative digital forensic methodologies, and emerging technologies that can reshape the way we approach cyber defense. As an active member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Computer Society, CompTIA Academic Alliance, Infragard, and ISACA, I remain at the forefront of industry advancements. I welcome opportunities to collaborate, consult, and mentor those seeking to strengthen their cybersecurity strategies, digital forensics capabilities, and fraud prevention measures.#behavioralcybersecurity
