ABOUT LILY NELL HOLLETT
Hello, I\'m Lily Nell Hollett, a second-year undergraduate Psychology student at Nottingham Trent University, driven by a profound passion for research. My current focus is on Social and Biological Psychology, with a keen interest in understanding how these two fields intersect. My journey in academia has been guided by a relentless pursuit of hands-on experience, as I firmly believe in the importance of developing transferable skills for both academic and professional growth. My commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and comfort in diverse environments has been a consistent theme throughout my career. For instance, during my tenure as house Deputy Head Girl in high school, I centered my manifesto around eradicating bullying and creating safe spaces for all individuals during social hours. Additionally, I took pride in helping to establish the Breakfast Bagel Club, ensuring every student had a warm and comfortable environment to enjoy breakfast before school. These values have seamlessly transitioned into my university experience. As a student mentor in my second year, I had the privilege of helping first-year students acclimate to their new home city and navigate the challenges of their first year. My academic journey has further solidified my passion for research. I find great joy in planning and executing my own research projects in research methods modules. Excitingly, I have the opportunity to expand my horizons by serving as a research assistant in South Africa during my third year, where I\'ll be studying Chacma Baboons. I am enthusiastic about leveraging my experiences and skills to contribute meaningfully to research endeavours and create positive impacts in the field of Psychology.
