ABOUT LESLIE CHAVOLLA

Ms. Chavolla has more than 39 years of Program Management, Product Assurance and Manufacturing experience at Maxar Technologies. In her current position as Executive Program Director on the BSAT-4b program, she provides executive level support in the design, production and launch of a custom Ku-Band satellite for the B-SAT Corporation. Immediately prior to her current BSAT-4b assignment, Ms. Chavolla was assigned as the Deputy Program Manager on the Amazonas 5 and Hispasat 1F Satellite Programs, she provided senior management level support in the design, production and launch of two custom satellites for Hispasat. After three years of design, development, and production both programs have been successfully launched and both are currently in service.Previously, Ms. Chavolla was the Director of Product Assurance Program Management (PAPM). Her role as the Director included working directly with all SSL customers to ensure that all contractual requirements and the PAPM (12 direct reports) program support was effective. For several years, Ms. Chavolla supported the following programs: Newskies 14, SES Sirius 5, Quetzat, Echostar, NBNCo, Thor 7 to name a few. Ms. Chavolla also held various program and project management positions, including Department Manager of the Satellite Test Equipment organization, Manager of the Standard Programs Product Assurance, Manufacturing and Quality Engineering positions. During her assignments in Manufacturing and Quality Engineering, she was a certified NASA Solder Instructor and responsible for the introduction of several automated soldering processes. Ms. Chavolla was instrumental in coordinating the successful SSL certification to the ISO/AS9100 Quality Management standards.
