ABOUT LEE ELLEN MEISS

Early in my career I learned that I love to solve problems and make things happen. I successfully identify pain points, their root cause, and have a collaborative approach to resolution. I constantly look for new ways of improving processes, organizing infrastructures, and helping employees become more efficient, confident, and happier.As the Senior Vice President, Chief Transformation Officer at Magellan Health, a Fortune 500 company and leader in managing complex areas of specialty health, I lead a team of professionals that focuses on growing, being more efficient, and applying best practices across the organization.Over the last 24 years I have been promoted six times, and recognized for achievements in leadership, service, and mentor ship. One career accomplishment of which I am most proud is founding and leading the Magellan Cares Foundation, a non-profit organization created to focus on access to national healthcare, and increase volunteer opportunities in the communities we serve. As Executive Director, I led the initiative to establish the grant-sponsored Parental Serenity Room at the Indiana University North Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.In the category of “stuff you’d never guess about me”, I’m a retired land-speed racer at Bonneville Salt Flats and El Mirage Lakebed; will always make time for family game night, playing Euchre, and crossword puzzles; if I’m not available by phone, I’m probably deep-sea fishing, knitting, crocheting, or kayaking; and I have an affinity for leaving things a little bit better than they were before.
