Oversight of the architecture, engineering and operation of the corporate global data enterprise for a rapidly expanding medical IOT, healthcare data sciences and manufacturing corporation. Scope includes voice & data LAN/WAN networks, physical data centers, cloud hosting & migration, application hosting and messaging systems. Accountable for a global portfolio of more than 150 facilities and globally distributed architecture, engineering and operations teams. • Established extensible and cost-effective infrastructure strategy using repeatable, resilient and scalable design patterns, leveraging an optimized portfolio of private and public cloud (AWS) resources without stranding existing on-premises assets. • 66% reduction in the number of separate data circuits at each facility, enabling phase-out of both global and domestic MPLS services in Europe and APAC. • Relocated regional voice and data hubs off-premises, reducing cost while increasing capacity, resiliency and business flexibility. Implemented AWS direct connect gateways regionally in US, EU & APAC for reduced cost, resilient, high capacity access to the cloud. • Migrated data processing and storage resources out of office and retail sites to AWS for improved data protection, capacity constraint elimination and reduced cost. • Initiated Wi-Fi remediation activities globally, including diagnostic surveys, capacity planning and performance monitoring. • Realized improvements by introducing and employing SD-WAN, SIP, and Microsoft Azure/O365. Corporate sites realized a 500% increase in bandwidth, gained redundant connectivity and a 10% reduction in network opex, all achieved without additional capex. • Implemented SAFe and Agile methodologies across the global IT Infrastructure organization, realizing predictable IT project delivery and providing a collaborative & dynamic framework to manage project priorities with stakeholders.
