ABOUT LAURA WOODIN
Laura Woodin is passionate about enabling leaders and organizations to engage and inspire the people who matter to their success. She currently works with a number of multi-national companies and senior executives to improve the clarity and impact of their internal and external communication. At Early Light Public Relations, Laura helps organizations - from start ups to multi-national corporations - communicate their value proposition, translate science into positive news stories, engage and recruit talent, and bring new medicines or digital innovations to people around the globe. During her in-house tenure with science-focused Fortune 500 companies, Laura collaborated with global, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver proactive stakeholder engagement strategies that advanced the companies\' objectives. In her global role as Science Media Director at AstraZeneca, Laura identified opportunities to communicate the organization\'s science and partnering strategy. She supported senior leaders in high-profile media interviews and speaking engagements, built relationships with top tier and trade media and leveraged social media to the fullest. She also led communication for the launch of the company\'s first orphan drug, supported product teams in the respiratory, neuroscience and oncology therapeutic areas, and served as corporate spokeswoman in courtrooms across the US.As part of the global Engineering function at DuPont, Laura counseled senior leaders and built internal communications channels to improve employee engagement. She also contributed to the company\'s focus on STEM education through speaking engagements for leaders and social media campaigns, and served in a crisis communications capacity on behalf of company sites in Delaware.Laura holds a bachelor\'s degree in Communications and an MBA from the University of Delaware. She has worked in both the US and London.Laura and her husband enjoy volunteering their time and giving back to their community by serving on a number of Boards. They are raising two strong-willed daughters and a recently-adopted son. Laura enjoys trading real-life stories about the blessings and trevails of working motherhood.
