ABOUT LANCE WOOD

Lance is a Strategic Advisor at National Christian Foundation (NCF), where he supports people in their generosity, including structuring tax-efficient giving strategies. He spends much of his time on complex asset gifts that allow generous Christians to get substantially more money to the Kingdom without costing them or their families anything. Before NCF, Lance was a PwC tax partner with over 35 years of experience serving public, private, domestic, and international enterprises. Lance served high-net-worth families, including their businesses, trusts, individuals, and private foundations. Lance’s practice focused on systematically identifying tax opportunities and risks, then working closely with his clients to minimize risk and maximize appropriate tax savings. Lance holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master’s degree in Business Taxation from the University of Southern California. He has taught courses, published articles, and spoken on various tax planning and technical matters. He is a CPA and a member of both the AICPA and CalCPA.When Lance is not a tax guy, he is a husband (30+ years), father (5 children; three birth and two adopted from Ethiopia), and trying hard to make a difference in this world. He and his family attend both Mariners Church and Calvary Church of the Harbour. They also lead a group of 75+ people on an annual Mexico house-building and missions trip. Lance is on the board of Soul Shepherding, a ministry to pastors, missionaries, and Christian business leaders. He is also on the board of a private foundation and, separately, a small for-profit medical device company. He was the Chairman of the SoCal regional board and is on the National Board for Hope International. HOPE is a Christ-centered microfinance organization that offers “a hand up, not a hand out” to over 1 million clients in some of the world\'s most impoverished countries. He co-authored a book on helping kids titled \"$4.83: The Cost to Impact the Life of a Child for a Year…. maybe forever.\" Lance and his family live in Irvine, California, and also have a home in Tennessee.
