ABOUT KRISTIN WOZNIAK
Starting her career at the CBC, Kristin\'s career changed dramatically after having a baby. She decided the traditional approach to corporate life was not going to work for her and openly challenged the notion that emotions don’t belong in the office. Since then, she has focused on creating working cultures that recognize and celebrate the realities of people’s personal lives (e.g. who is a better multi-tasker than a working mom!). This “more human” approach to corporate life has also impacted her approach to data and analytics, where she champions the idea of bringing “humanity back into data”. She calls this “data-informed decision making” versus the traditional “data-based decision making”, which allows data experts to bring their experience and emotions into the decision making process. Kristin was named one of Toronto\'s Top 50 Leaders in 2022 and again in 2024, and named Media Leader of the Year in 2021 (by the Canadian Media Directors Council). Her team and colleagues describe her as an empathetic, strategic, and resilient leader who creates safe spaces, empowers and advances talent, champions diversity, and creates meaningful positive change.
